Sympathy for Eating Disorder Sufferers
We have to understand that just because a disease happens primarily due to causes related to the mind, it does not mean that the victim is only making it up or actually wishes it on themselves. If one would notice, there is a great deal of sympathy for people suffering from cancer for example, but not for people who suffer from some sort of eating disorder. We have to understand that the compulsions inherent in these disorders are not always brought about by the victims on themselves and that victims of eating disorders are just as deserving of help as those who suffer from other sicknesses.
