Facing up to cervical spine surgery
On the advice of my doctor I have been practicing yoga to keep my spine shipshape. It is the spine that makes us walk straight unlike other creatures. A column protects the spinal cord. 24 columns make up the column. Each is separated by discs that act as shock absorbers. When the spine starts to give trouble, surgery is necessary to relieve the sufferer from pain, stiffness and weakness. By surgery a defective disc or bone is removed or vertebrae are fused together by the process of grafting. Like any other surgical operation one must be ready for risks before facing up to cervical spine surgery. This can make a huge difference to the outcome.
