Miccokeratome is a Lasik eye surgery procedure where an eye surgeon uses a small, oscillating blade to make a corneal flap. The procedure is named so after the blade that is used in it. The microkeratome blade is so fine an instrument that, if used properly, can slice between the corneas to create the flap. According to recent data, Lasik patients are switching preference from the traditional Microkeratome lasik surgery procedure to the more sophisticated Lasik Wavefront procedure. This is really very understandable since a laser is more accurate and precise than a hand-held blade can ever be. For the moment though, Lasik eye surgery is still being practiced due to its being a lot more affordable for the people.
