Colon Polyps Are Common
Colon polyps are a lot more common than most people realize. In fact, it is thought that one out of every three people in the United States has a problem with colon polyps by the time they are in their 40s. For the most part, these colon polyps go undetected unless they are noticed during a routine examination. Fortunately, they are typically benign and do not cause any problems. They should not be a concern for colon cancer surgery. They are worthy of our attention, however, as larger colon polyps can develop into cancer over time.
