Ulcerative Colitis Treatments
Ok, if we’re going to talk about ulcerative colitis treatments, let’s talk about it seriously. For starters if your colitis is limited to the rectum or colitis limited to the end of the left colon you will do quite well with treatment of diet medication, and perhaps enemas. However, although serious complications are rare in these colitis forms, in more extensive cases, blood loss from the inflamed intestines can lead to anemia that can be treated with iron supplements. But, very rarely the inflammation can become so severe, called toxic megacolon, that unless there is rapid improvement with medication, surgery will be required to prevent colon rupture
