How can i exercise my pet in the winter?

exercise
sexy_lil_angel07 asked:

I have a very hyper lab mix that stays inside. The only way that I know how to calm him down some is to exercise him, but Im expecting a baby in 3 weeks and its starting to get really cold outside. Im afraid that if he doesnt get his exercise he might accidently hurt the baby. Please help me.

have you let him try a treadmill?
I know it sounds silly, but a friend of mine used one for his dog one winter.

Hi , employ a dog walker .If you live in uk please see http;//www.letsgowalkies.net / . Your dogs behavior isn’t just because she needs exercises however .But excercise will help her relieve some of the tension she seems to be displaying
I would strongly suggest reading Jan fennel and Cesar Milan’s books to explain to you , the behavior your dog is exhibiting .

well, you could go outside for 5-10 mins. playing fetch with your dog.

you could also have a neighbor walk your dog for you.

    just giving suggestions

i dont think he would hurt your baby. if hes really hyper, jumping around on couches, then yes just be extremely careful! i agree with the other person, you can use a treadmill. but be careful again, watch the dog when hes on the treadmill, you neeed to keep an eye on it. or you can just let him run and play in the back yard for maybe 3 times a day for 10 minutes each time, ONLY if you have a fenced in yard!! my dog loved the snow, he would run, jump and roll in it, he had a blast! i would go out an play with him for an hour a day!! good luck.

sorry, i was under the impression that walking was good for expectant mothers as well as dogs. Why can’t you bundle up and still walk? Studies have shown that walking helps when it is time for delivery, many women even go for walks inbetween contractions.
If you really won’t walk, you can get a good used treadmill for about 100 dollars. Are you a single mom? if not, why can’t the father walk the dog?
