How do I know how much exercise I am getting?
Trixie asked:
I’m such a perfectionist sometimes. I freak out because I can’t measure how much exercise I do, how many calories I burn and such when I do certain activities, like cleaning my home or walking or such. How am I supposed to know how much I’m supposed to eat (with the additional amount I need when I exercise), if I can’t measure the amount of exercise I am doing? How can I lose weight sucessfully? This is really exasperating me.

Just eat normally and healthy just because you walk home everyday doesnt mean to have two bowls of cereal just follow your common sence. Calorie Counters are all over the net
How do you look and feel? Are you overweight? Don’t sweat the details. There are books that will tell you how much this and that burns, but what a waste of time. Maybe keeping a diary of what you eat will help satisfy your need for measure. You can also add the number of mins and type of exercise per day. Do a variety, and don’t worry so much. You know if it’s enough.
If you are this concerned with your body, I would suggest that you see a physical trainer. A physical trainer has the ability to calculate the amount of calories your body burns with very little physical activity. With this figure you can figure how much calories you need to decrease from you daily intake. The average figure is apprx 500 calories to cut back. You also should differentiate the calories that are coming from: protein, fats, and carbohydrates. This way you can proportionate your food intake. I would also suggest that you do some research on foods and dieting if you have not done so already. Well good luck.
