What Monetary Amount or Other Disability Benefits Are Available?
If your request for inability benefits is granted, and you qualify for SSD (Social Security Disability) you can receive over $2100 per month—however, this is the maximum amount. You actual check will be based on your lifetime earnings.
SSI (Supplemental Security Income), on the other hand, is not a work-based program. If you have a low income level and you meet the other eligibility requirements to receive benefits for disability, you will receive a monthly amount that varies according to your state law governing SSI benefits. Along with SSI you can receive food stamps and Medicaid. Any other income you may be getting will or can affect your Supplemental Security Income check amount.
